Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ of the Eastern Shore Deanery,

The Eastern Shore Deanery Leadership Team (DLT) which is comprised of representatives from all of the parishes within this deanery have been meeting these past several months, and we now find ourselves ready to seek your participation within this process of prayer and journeying together which is often referred to as the synodal process. It is important to the (DLT) that the Holy Spirit in the Church be heard through all its members because each person is valued by God. We wish to authentically acknowledge the strengths and weaknesses we possess to determine how best to proceed as a visible sign of unity for Christ in our world today.

You may recall that each parish was invited to participate in the Synod in October of 2021 – when we prayed for the Holy Spirit to help us to articulate where we are in the world today as a Church. The Deanery Leadership Team utilized the Synod results along with the Ten Best Practices from the Diocese of Wilmington to determine where we believe the focus ought to be for the Eastern Shore Deanery. We ask you as a member of the Church that you prayerfully consider the following questionnaire for your review and submission.

We journey together united in Christ with purpose – the Mission of Jesus Christ. Each of us is a member of the Mystical Body of Christ, and we celebrate our ability to ensure the vitality of the Church along with the Holy Spirit. In order for the DLT to determine how to best proceed, we first need to discern the areas where the Holy Spirit is leading all of us.
